| I am thinking of SBR my pps 43 pistol. How hard was it to convert? Peening of the button looks difficult without causing damage. |

I don't think it's too hard, I've seen a number of them done.
I'm going to do mine shortly. When I bought mine I also bought a complete spare parts kit (minus barrel and rec., $50) and four extra magazines, and the total shipped came to just under $400. I bought the spare parts kit just for the stock, if the welded one get's derped up cutting the welds, I'm golden. I'm pretty stoked. I'm in Afghanistan, I'll file my form 1 from here, but it will be awhile before I can play with it. |

I did some more googling since I responded to this..
Apparently there are 'early' and 'late' imports. The early imports seem to be a functional folder that is welded immobile, the late imports seem to be modified. From what I can tell, the receiver does not have clearance for the lock piece to move, so after the welds have been cut, the locking slot has to be opened up. Several of the threads I read suggested it could be done without buying a spare stock, but it would be easier if you had a spare stock. Apparently if you don't have a spare stock, there are a spring or two missing, and perhaps also the button (on the late imports). I haven't seen mine yet, but I"m going to do it either way. |
