The sights are made by PSI: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=9220/Product/SHOTGUN_HEAVY_DUTY_GHOST_RING_SIGHT and it's just a heavier duty adjustable rear sight that I liked better than the chinsey one that comes with the Mossy. It's the one that the guys at Magpul Dynamics are running on their tubes. It does require drilling and tapping the receiver to install (not hard). The rail is made by Messa Tactical Products: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=27200/Product/SHOTGUN_RECEIVER_MOUNT_PICATINNY_RAIL I installed the sight, then cut the rail at the back end so it would fit forward of the sight giving it a continuous look. I got tired of being kicked by my Serbu Super-Shorty and had it repapered to a SBS. Much handier this way and much more practical, if that is a word that can be associated with these shotguns.

My first two SBSs I just finished working on:
Remington 870 Express Magnum 12 GA with 12.5" barrel. Hogue 12" LOP stock set and Mesa side saddle. 
Stoeger Uplander 12 GA SXS with 11" barrels (Formally had 26" barrels). Turned out pretty well for my first try.

Sorry. Stevens 311. This is the sanded yet unfinished and unsealed picture. 
I made an uninformed error by buying a project weapon that had the stock bolt that went through the stock instead of up through the grip. So I had to find a different shorter bolt to fit.Then I had to take a large diameter dowel rod and shape a plug. 
Test fit, not quite there. 
Smoothing out. 
There.

| Those are really nice looking SBSs. I have a Stoeger I'd like to cut down. Before I embark on putting in the paperwork, is there anything that needs to be done to the barrels and the connective metal between them, or can they simply (and carefully) be cut off and a new sight installed? |

I personally did a rough cut with a hacksaw to get the approximate length, then rough and fine files to fine tune and bevel the barrels. I have not tapped the new sight in yet. But mine was a first attempt. I hope to get as skilled as some of these guys on the next one.

The barrels were done by Gary at Gary's Bunker who is a licensed SOT class 2 manufacturer. I believe he machines a piece to fit in the gap and then silver solders it in. He does a great job and is reasonably priced. |
