A commonly cited figure is about 50% relative humidity to prevent rust and mold. Don't go too much lower or you risk damage to wood, leather, paper etc...In my own experience, I have not had any rust or mold problems with the humidity at or around 60%. It's also important to avoid drastic temperature and humidity swings. |
