I just wish i had a lathe then i could really have some fun.
i am in the middle of making a case feed system for mine. my plan is to just use my lnl case feed hopper assy. and put it on the annealer when i need too. got the support tube made. now i am working on the mechanism. |

Keep the pics coming! will do i am going to wait to post the pics till i get it working might be a week or so. i ordered another case turning motor to try. i want the cases to spin a little faster. not that it doesn't work and it would probably be better if i powered them separately but right now they only make right at 1 revelution per case i would like to get it to 2 revelutions |
Having only a wood working shop, I don't have access to any metal working tools other than a grinder, drill press, metal chop saw, and hand tools....oh, and an acetylene torch.
So using some inspiration from Dryflash3's many rich-looking projects, I'm going to attempt to do this with hardwood....with a little help from jmorris's blade. Finally got it ordered....just need to get the motor ordered today. All I need is time. Very jealous of anyone with a metal lathe and some know-how on how to use it! Staying tuned here. 
If I'd quit starting projects, I might even get some serious reloading done.

As a building contractor I do have easy access to such! You ought to save yours, though. Cut it square and glue a wood moulding around it. It makes a great cutting board for the wife.

A word of caution about a lathe- you will make many random things that you would have never dreamed of spending time on before. I picked up one earlier this year and I have used it for everything from profiling barrels to making parts to fix a water hose.

I would like to see a video. I am waiting on some metal for my torch arms and a speed controller. I had to make some pulleys for my motor. I will get some pics of my progress up soon. |

This is a great project, the only suggestion I would make is put a nylon bearing on the
bolt that triggers the arm to drop the case. I'm really think that this is one the best threads I've run accrossed. Fine work, after you did all the hard work I may just have to copt it. Thanks BG. sdshooter............, |

Thanks BG. sdshooter............, thanks for the compliments and input. the paint dried enuff so i finished assy. and got it set for 223. here is the video as promised along with some close up picks of the case feed stuff with measurements. i hope this inspires others to build their own. looks like production is going to be very good 3.5-4 seconds per case 8-900 per hour at full capacity.

| Ran into a problem yesterday. The ac motor speed controller does not control my speed at all(I am using an AC gear motor I acquired.). I need to find something that works and is cost effective. Otherwise mine is almost done. I will post pics soon. I may be seeling my initial build and create a new redesigned unit. |

I figure if i can build it the least i can do is help someone else save some money and build theirs. i didn't cut cost on too many things so i have about 250 in mine but that is better than 450 plus shipping any day for a giurad and i think mine is faster than a giurad. A guy doesn't have to use the power supply i used. you can use a simple 12 volt 2 amp power supply that is much cheaper and a rheostat/ light dimmer switch from a car and that would save 50 bucks probably. thanks again and if anyone needs more info or help just ask i will do what i can. |

With one pully I can average 3.5 seconds and the other roughly 4. no i haven't i only have a few 308's as of now because i don't have a gun that shoots it yet but my brother does.
my plan is to get a base line on them this weekend i have 3-4000 223 and 6.5 pcc cases to do first and they both use the same set up then i will reset for 308 and get my base line i would assume it will be about 4-4.5 seconds but that can be changed by moving the torches closer. i have them moved way back for the 223 cause they heat up fast. i don't really want to run my machine much faster than 3 seconds a case. i will post up what my results are. |

did 2 batches of brass tonight 6.5 pcc and 223
i did 3.8lbs of 223 brass in 15 minutes which translates to 285 cases in 15 min or 19 cases a minute. not to bad i am happy with that. will try some 308 in the next few days and see what it takes for them along with my x40 cases. |

Just a little update
I wanted my cases to spin a bit faster. they were getting 1 revolution in the flame before moving. I wanted to get to 3 or so i already have it set up for one style of motor so i search and search and could only find a 200 rpm motor like the one i am using it is a 30 rpm. so i hooked it all up and gave it a try it was spinning a bit fast for me so i put a 10 watt 10 ohm resistor in the power line and that dropped it just a bit and i think it is going to work if not i have one more resistor I can put in to drop it a bit more. I will be doing a batch of 308 for my brother this weekend so i will see how fast it can do the larger cases. |
| I decided to scrap my free motor. I could not get the speed controled without spending a considerable amount of money. I am ordering a the motor you used today. Hopefully I will have mine up and running by the end of the week. What/how are you using to power the case turning motor. |

I am using the same power supply to run both motors. basically with the 30 rpm case spin motor i was turning 1 revolution in a 3.2 second heat cycle. and that was at 10.9 volts i now installed a 200 rpm motor and it is a bit fast so i installed 1 10 ohm resistor to slow it down and i may install one more to slow it down a bit more. another way you can do it is just get 2 smaller 1 amp rated power supplies like they use for charging batteries or powering accessories and put variable resistors on each of them so you can control the speed of each independent of each other. |
