found this at my Grandparents. looks like a rapier (sp), but never seen one with a blade like this. Has more of a bayonet spike blade.

Try googling " Main Gauche"
Looks like a parrying dagger, used in the off hand, in conjuction with a Rapier.
Correct term for that blade type escapes me at the moment.

thanks, found some pic's, but none with a spike style blade, the owner of the local funstore also deals in antiques and does appraisels. I already have a Japanese officers sword to take to him this week. I'll take this too.

just had the owner of the funshop look it over, he also does appraisels and deals in antiques. he said it was a spanish torador sword, used by bull fighters.
