Dealer received my Spectre on friday but still haven't called me about it. Regardless,
Next step is to go see him, pay his transfer fee, get the f4 from the dealer, get fingerprints and passport photos, drop everything with my CLEO, take everything back to dealer or can I mail everything and the $200 myself?
I ask b/c my dealer is about 45-60 mins away
Thanks

Here is how my transfers have worked. I don't know if it is the same everywhere or not. And my dealer is 1 hour from me. Oh and I use a trust which I think is a ton easier.

1) buy suppressor
2) the company I bought suppressor from starts transfer to my dealer
3) the transfer is approved. The original company ships to dealer
4) dealer emails me the suppressor has arrived
5) dealer ask for $200.00 which I pay on he website
6) dealer ask for PDF of trust so he can print it out.
7) dealer sends in the form 4
8) wait a really long time
9) dealer emails me the suppressor is approved
10) I go in any pay the $50.00 transfer fee when I pick up the suppressor.

Your process will be slightly different since you are not using a trust. But for my first suppressor my dealer filled out all the forms then mailed them to me so I could sign and add my $200 check(this was before eforms when my dealer figured out you do t have to sign the back with a trust). So I figure your dealer could do this method. He can fill out the form 4 as much as possible mail it to you where you can add all the required info.

excellent.
Good to know that you pay the dealer's transfer fee at the end.
So I guess I'm at step 4 right now. my in-state dealer has the can from silencershop, f3 approved two weeks ago

Just know that's not always the case.

I used SS Direct for 3 purchases, and paid for the stamp and transfer when I paid for the can.
I also bought one from them and chose my own dealer, and paid that dealer the transfer fee and tax stamp at the same time in order for them to file the F4.

Some dealers will pay the $200 and you reimburse them (was very common in EForms, but also works that way on paper depending on dealer), others will have you pay ATF directly.

You will need to talk to your dealer as it can been many ways. My customers would have had a completed, ready to drop in mail F4 packet long before the can came in.

For future purchases, get your paperwork signed and ready during the Form 3 transfer wait. You could have had all this done already.

Clarify - I spoke to a not-so-knowledgable staff member at the gun shop today.
He said I have to fill out their form 4 in person when I come up there on June 27th.
So I buy FBI finger print cards on ebay and fill them out myself (?), get walgreens to do passport photos, take those two items to the shop on the 27th. Then come home and get my CLEO to sign and I mail two f4s, $200, passport photos and the fingerprint cards to the new atf address listed in a sticky?

The gun shop should have the fingerprint cards. If not you are on your own. Mail it to the address on the Form 4. You will also need the Certificate of Compliance.

Can I buy them and finger print myself to get the ball rolling?

Certification of Compliance (only one copy needed)

You can order the fingerprint cards. You can roll your own prints if you want.

It's for F1/F4 applications by an individual. Not sure when it started.
