Has anyone ever heard of a

Hardballer  .44 cal with a 5 inch barrel?

You mean an AMT Hardballer?  That's a 1911 clone.  A 5 inch would be the standard size, and they probably accidentally wrote or said .44 instead of .45.

Where did you see it?  My dad's AMT hardballer was stolen several months back in Texas.

this was the gun used by Arnold in "The Terminator". The one he got from the gun shop scene where he asks for a "phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range"

seriously.

AMT Hardballers are hit or miss in the quality department and don't usually command good prices unless it is an unusual model like the Hardballer in .30 carbine or the super long Hardballer variants.
