I bought a 917VRX from wallyworld (less than 200 bucks). I figured it would be an upgrade from my H&R sportster. So far I found that using the supplied bases it was impossible to bore sight it with conventional rings, weaver etc., (after I lapped them ) so back to tip-offs. It only took thee layers of shim tape to get some Tasco rings to where I can bore sight it. I hope there is enough adujsment left in the scope to sight it in . I can only surmise that the reciver is not in alignment with the barrel
