well it was ugly h&r all but the bolt s.a. wood was god alful but did the dish washer treatment a little sanding redoak stain &dark walnut &blo looks ok now about 60% finisih left bore cleaned out pretty good the sa was worse but thats another story have after pics but no before because i couldnt wait to do it  can some post the pics if i e-mail them if u-all want to see looks good opps forgot used baking laqcuor for the finish dm59 out

I swear to god I got a Greek H&R that is like brand new. I shot it 2 weeks ago it is super tight. $500. I do believe this is my once in a lifetime deal. Awesome rifle.

just ordered my first CMP Garand this last saturday.   I ordered a greek service grade, I can hardly wait till it gets here!

I picked up a Greek HRA with a SA bolt, and it isn't in too bad a shape... The wood will clean up, and the bore has some miles, but isn't shot out, yet... It'll clean up pretty good, and if it shoots well, I'll keep it as is - if not, I'll re-barrel it in .308 - it was one of those $299 specials, so I feel like the deal wasn't bad... So far I've only ran about 80rnds thru it, and it ran flawlessly - shot around 2MOA, but the shooting conditions weren't that great - I'm going to shoot it a couple of more times before I qualify it's accuracy too much...

This is my 1st M1, and I'm pretty happy with it thus far...

Guess I got lucky with my Greek Racker.  Only thing NOT hra on it was the rear sight elevation spindle (it's a Beretta BM59 part...kinda cool.  Even Orest said that's the first time he ever heard of that happening).  Barrel is tighter than my service grade HRA's and SA's, wood's in better shape, and it's NOT arsenal rebuilt
