Are speaking of shotgun shells? If so I have no idea.

Brass cartridge cases can be cleaned dry or wet but why both.

If you want super clean dust free brass cartridge cases wet tumbling with stainless steel pins is all you have to do.

Dawn and Lemi shine mixed with water, stainless steel pins and brass cases.

No dry corn cob needed and the primer pockets come out  sparkling clean also.

Welcome to the Reloading forum, but could you clarify your question a little?

What exactly do you want to clean? Brass cases, steel cases, or shotgun hulls?

The more you use it the less dusty it will get, at least in my experience.

I usually put a cut up used dryer sheet in the tumbler to pick up dust. and Nu Finish® car polish.

You can also run your tumbler outside, with the lid off on a breezy day, fine dust will just blow away.

I don't wash cases, seems like a big hassle, I've done it before though.  Just use dishsoap, and some folks use a very small amount of Lemishine®(citric acid), and rinse and dry completely.

You shouldn't have to remove the dust.

The secret is a couple of dryer sheets cut in half and put into the tumbler with the media/cases.

They will absorb the dust, when you dump the tumbler throw them away and replace them with more.

Couple of batches and the dust will be under control.

Also use a better quality media.

If you are getting dust you are using the wrong corn cob.  Don't buy the bedding stuff.  Get the polishing stuff.  It is sold by a company called Mt. Pulaski Products in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois.  It is made specifically to polish ball bearings, but the owners of the company are shooters and sympathetic to our needs.
