how critical is it to clean a Colt after shooting it..
are these pre ban barrels chrome lined?
how susceptible to corrosion are they?
if it is being shot at least once a week is cleaning at the end of the season adaquate?

am i at risk of damaging the bore or other parts if i dont clean after every trip to the range?

whats the bottom line here...how often do you guys that shoot freqeuntly clean your rifle and how thoroughly?

I believe the pre bans are chrome lined.  You don't need to clean after every range trip, but running a solvent soaked patch followed by a dry one couldn't hurt.  I would thoroughly clean every 200 rounds or so.

A lot of good info in the Maintenance and Cleaning forum.

As for my Pre-ban Colt which has a stainless steel barrel, I usually clean her after every range trip. But if I'm feeling lazy or short on time I at least run a CLP soaked patch down the barrel until I can thoroughly clean her. I've also heard of several here on the boards who have shot several thousands of rounds without any cleaning whatsoever and with no problems. Whatever tickles your pickle, I guess.
