[ARCHIVED THREAD] - checking serial numbers

I just bought a used Rem 1100 shotgun and have no idea of its age. Does anyone know of a site that breaks down the serial numbers into the years of manufacture? The gun is in very good condition and my curiousity of the age is killing me. Thanks...fullclip

Your best bet is just go to Remington's web site and they should have a support or info email address .
