just got my CMP carbine last week seem to be all 1943 inland.  in the manual my rear sight is called an "alternate rear sight" is this desirable or not collector wise or no big deal either way

The alternate rear sights were the milled or stamped fully adjustable rear sights.
These were introduced late in the war, and most Carbines were retro-fitted with them later during repairs or in a formal rebuild program.

While a 1943 would be more collector desirable with an original "L" type flip sight, most Carbines were fitted with the later sights so it's still "original" USGI.
