i want to get a scope for my AR-15 a3 model.
so let me see your pics of scopes mounted on the flattops.
i am going to my local gun show next week and want to see some different ideas.
i am mostly looking for a high power scope for long range plinking.  i have a 3x9 on my other rifle and that just is not enough...

SWS......

That's a nice looking set up.  Just curious, are you able to get a good cheek weld with the scope that high and that far forward?

Thanks......

The Varminter Rifle is GREAT! Everything about the gun is outstanding. If you get one, I promise you will not be disappointed. After buying this one, I bought two more. Bushmaster built me an A2 Varminter.

That's a Vari-X2, 3-9x40.  Nothing special, but I like it.  It's nice and clear.  Certainly better than most of the cheaper brands that I've tried.

I've got that one setup for optimum eye relief and comfort.  I'm not one of those guys that has his nose pressed against the charging handle anyway.

Depending on the mood and the range, I either mount my TA01-NSN (w/ARMS#19A) or my Reflex (w/ARMS #15 and spacers).  Both are excellent choices for the carbine.  I used to have a Leupold Tactical (below), but I just wasn't using it so I sold it to fund the ACOG (actually, I bought beer and ammo, but I told the wife it was to fund the ACOG ;).

All Bushmaster except RRA weaver gas block. Leupold Vari-X II w/ target knobs. It's a sweet set-up!

This is the before shot. Hated the aluminum handguard. Did look neat with the four strand 550 cord before making it into A2 style handguards done by your truely.

Dude, where did you get the cool free-float handguard?  I have been looking for something like that for an SD project.  Are they polymer/carbon fiber/kevlar, or can they be made in any of the afore mentioned?

I didn't/don't have any problems with EER on my set up and those who shot it didn't mention having any problems.

I know it's not my rifle, and I may be making an ass of myself by responding, but...

It just looks like he has a ArmaLite AR15(TC) upper on a Cav Arms lower.  The tube is fiberglass.  You can get them from ArmaLite.

Not an AR-15, but a Stewart Wilson AR-10, Option 3, scope is a Leopold Vari-III 6.5-20x50 long range, 30mm tube, with fine line 1/4 mil dot reticle and beefed tracking system. Reticle is one mil at 10, .5 mil at 20.
