an AR15 bolt/carrier combo compared to an AR10 bolt/carrier combo?

how much bigger is the AR10?  

got in an arguement w/a buddy of mine, seems a 308 bolt/carrier would be a lot bigger than a 223.  just my opinion though i suppose...never seen one in person

I just bought my AR-10 & yes, the 10s bolt carrier is a lot bigger as well as a lot heavier.

In fact, I'd say the weight is much higher in proportion than the size. There's very little milled out on the underside of the 10s carrier.

I'd say the AR-10's carrier is probably a third bigger than the AR-15's. Maybe 1/4.
