I grew up in Montana and always considered it home, especially during my Navy days.  Like SRM, I had to leave to find work; something about wanting to eat.  Been in Oregon 17 years and still think of MT as home; still own a small piece of land there. Last year the wife and I went to Alaska.  Montana dropped to #2 of where we are going to retire.

Does once liveing in Great Falls, Montana, stationed at Malmstrom AFB count?

I wish I did not need to leave that state when I got out of the AirForce, but like someone else said, had to leave to find work. What a  beutiful State Montana is! Hunting, fishing, four whellin, snowboarding, hikeing, float trips down the Missiouri River, going to the races in Lewiston,Greatfalls, and Billings, cant forget the Playground and Tokyo Massage in GreatFalls Oh how I miss those days.
