| Is it still available? Tried some of the local shops and the kids there didn't even know what it was. My father-in-law has a pump .22 that will take shorts and he's been looking for some rounds so he can pop prarie dogs in the backyard without the neighbors getting too excited. |

Really, heck it must be a regional thing. Here in Iowa Wal-Mart, Sportsmans Warehouse, Scheels and all the local gunstores carry quite a few different .22short rounds. I find them very usefull, get some .22short CBs......fire them thru a rifle and they sound like a pellet gun. Great for shooting nuisance critters in town. I have a few boxes laying around just for that purpose. |
Yup, I actually got a yote with a CB; one shot one kill. I had the skull unitl my roomate's dog ate it. |
same thing happened to my father some years back, bought a brick of shorts and didnt even know it. luckily his winchester lever-action can fire all .22 except magnum, but of course he still hasn't used any of them  also seem them just about everyplace they sell ammo around here |
I do quite a bit of vermin shooting with shorts, like pigeons inside buildings, rats in chicken farms and that kind of thing. I bought a Volquartzen magazine converted to feed shorts for my 77/22 and use CCI Match Shorts which are subsonic. I shoot that gun alot, it is deadly accurate inside 40yds (head shots easy); I couldn't live without it. I sold all my air rifles and use a suppressor and lamp on the 77/22 instead.
