I have done this for a client. The gain was about 150 fps velocity. It would be difficult to do with a chrome lined barrel/chamber because you would need to get a carbide reamer to re-cut the chamber. Jarheadgunner.

I'm curious to know if your client experienced any feed problems.

Neither I nor the client had any feed problems. The case is basically a straight wall version of the standard 223 (fire formed in chamber) with a 40 degree shoulder if I remember correctly. The chamber was not hard to cut with a standard reamer, but, it was not chrome lined either. JarheadGunner.

I have one built on a Rem 700 and have alot of feed problems. I had purchased a like new McMillan barrel at a gunshow chambered in 221 Dart. He told me it could be rechambered to almost anything. The seller had designed the the reamer. When I finally rounded up the gunsmith whom done the work I found out that it measured .369 at shoulder so the 223ACK at .370 was the only thing in that line that would clean up old chamber. It was about the 3rd one my smith had done and stated no feed problems when I asked. Well it is a pain it the ass for a coyote rifle. Shoots super but with about .003 taper the case has to go pretty much straight in or it hangs up half way in and you have to jiggle the bolt to get it all the way.
Perhaps in an AR mag it might possibly feed better or the force of the bolt will drive it home but might be kinda rough on cases.
Mine is super accurate(under .5) so I hate to rebarrell. Barrel could be redone to 22-250 but I shoot mainly 222 and 223. I only gave $75.00 for the barrel so guess it isn't to bad. My smith later stated that almost everyone he has done (about 20) have some feed problems. Whether Rem,Win or Sako actions. Hope this helps.
