That's close.  I'd grab it.

Sounds like a Irish contract rifle. I just bought one a few weeks ago that was still in the arsenal wrap,dated 12/54. It was $400.00. Great shooter. The import mark will be right up by the muzzle.If you get it go to Surplusrifleforum.com . They will show you how to take that rifle all the way down so you can get the grease out that is hiding under that wood. HTH,Nick
