I was able to work up some AR-Comp loads the previous night. Alliant's data leaves a lot to be desired on charge weights. I took their max of 25.6 gr and reduced by 10% for a 55gr bullet. I was planning on loading up four different charge weights at 23.4, 24, 24.6 and 25.2 respectively. However at 24.6 the case was pretty much full and Alliant's data didn't indicate it being a compressed charge so I stopped at the 24.6 load. I made up ten round of each.

I shot them yesterday morning and they grouped pretty well, the 24.6 gr load performing very well. Primers looked OK as well. I was planning on loading up more at this charge and running them over my chrono this weekend.

My question is for anyone using AR-Comp are the loads typically compressed?

Never loaded compressed loads with this powder. 22.7 gr is what my rifle decided it like so I had no reason to continue. Still a very good powder though. Keep us posted with the progress.

Getting ready to test 25.0gr tomorrow.

Here's my workup with chrony data if it'll help you.

Cool, my 24.6gr load was very accurate, I am going to try and squeeze in the 25.2 load and see how that performs. I will have to load this one with patience on my LNL as the case will be topped off at this load.

I also hope to run mine over the chrono as well.

Are you swirling the powder in ?

With the 25gr even I'm below the shoulder. I've been measuring each charge on a RCBS 505, and swirling the powder from the pan into the funnel then tapping the bottom of the case a few times. I'm not using a drop tube though.

I will still swirl once I find the load I want, but it'll be from the powder measure directly. Right now I have AA2200 in the hopper and need to get to finishing those last 110gr Hornady OTM 6.8s so I can swap powders.
