Anyone here use or installed window security film? If so what are your thoughts and recommendations. Plan on adding this to all the lower windows, but wanted to see if anyone had a particular brand and/or info they could share.
This is just one I came across: Shatterguard Realize this won't stop entry, but it will create time and noise.... |
| I had it installed in the second story windows for my MIL. We had a hurricane go right over us in 2005 and it performed as advertised. The glass was completely smashed but remained in one piece and the 115 mph winds did not get in the house. Its the real deal. One important note, it will only be as good as the window frame and the frame installation. The window must be very securely attached to the house for it to be foolproof. |

according to the website "And unlike costly ballistic glass, ShatterGARD ™ products are guaranteed not to yellow or distort overtime."

Wow. These look cool. I remember seeing these on 'It Takes a Thief.' Are these permanent or does the sun damage them over time? |

Why is it damn near impossible to find a quality film you can install yourself? It's not rocket science. The safety films are much harder to work with than normal tint. The thinest film we used was over 4x thicker that regular films. I'm certified by Llumar to install safety films and it's a pain to do lol. |
