| I'm looking for a good source of window bars (burglar bars) that meet fire code. The only one I could find with a quick release won't work with the windows I'll be using them on because the sill is too close to the floor. I looked into rolling shutters but they are just way to expensive. |

I'm looking at Mr. Goodbar for a basement window I want to secure but still keep it to code since it's counts as a bed room.

The mechanism drops too low and would hit the floor on my windows because the sill is very low. |

They drop down from the window so someone couldn't break the window and be able to reach the mechanism to release it. I think the top of my window would be too close to the ceiling but even if it wasn't my wife and kids wouldn't be able to reach it if I installed them upside down at the top of the window. |
