I am looking into getting some ball powder to reload 308/7.62X51. I currently use Accurate 4895 and it doesnt meter for crap. Anyone have any experience using ball powder loading 308/7.62X51

Accurate 2520 is a good choice for something nearly identical to Accurate 2495.  I don't think Accurate made a 4895.

Anyhow, I have not used it for .308 but have used it in .223 with great results.  Only reason I quit was Varget became cheaper.  My loading with 80 grain Sierras was fast and very accurate, less than 4" off bags at 600 yards

I use BLC2 for 308 and 223. Meters great.

748, BL-C2, and wc846 have all worked well for me in .308 and .223

I use AA 2460 for loading .308/7.62 NATO, very accurate and meters good.

The advice on the 2520 seems pretty good as I saw the guy next to me shoot 1 ragged hole with a 10 shot group at 100yds.  I asked what he was using and he said 2520.  Then he showed me 1 group with benchrest primers and 1 with magnums.  The magnums shot tighter.  He was using 16? gr. hunting bullets.
If I can't get a load with Big Game or Tac, I'll try 2520.

My take exactly.  With 80 grain Sierras, seated to 2.505", 23 grains was good for 3/4" groups at 300 yards only with 450 primers.  BR4s would open it up to over 3".  This in a 20" A2.

For .308 and heavier bullets, I also had good luck with H380.  But this is too slow for op-rod semi autos.  Works fine in a bolt gun and very well in longer barrels.  This is a true spherical grain propellent and flows like water.

+1 for 2520. Excellent powder.I use 41.5 in a LC case,168 HPBTM and a 9 1/2 primer. It will hold X-ring all day long-IF I do my job.

Me too.  I use 47.5 gr of W748 pushing a Nosler 150 gr BT from my 24" AR10 barrel at 2,850 fps., and sub moa.  IMHO the WLR primers, or a mag primer seem to work best with the ball powders.

BLC2.  (Somebody will likely pop up saying something about "Spooky under the sun) but I've had zero problems with it.  And I live in about the hottest place in the country, Phoenix.

Same internet knock against W748, I have personally not tested it in extreme temps.

While, everyone has their own favorite load.  You could try my match load for the 7.62 Nato: LC brass, trimmed to 2.005", 168 gr. BTHP (Hornady or Sierra), 42 gr. Win. 748, Fed. 210 LR primer. COAL = 2.80“.

I like Win 748 powder because.......

1) It meters well........I don't get the "Ka-chunk," like when loading with a "stick powder."
2) It is available in 8 lb containers.
3) It is widely available.
4) It can be used with my 7.62 Nato and 5.56x45 re-loads.
5) The gas pressure curve is correct for my gas guns.
6) It's accurate.

HTH.

Aloha, Mark
