I wanted to start a thread for posting where they found good deals on hi-caps after the ban. I recall that Wal-Mart had the eagle 25 rounders for $10 way back when. Can pre ban hi caps be sent to AWB states. If so, I have a pre-ban 25 butler creek to donate to an ARFer behind the lines after I get some new ones.

Yea, my 10 round rotary broke a while back, and I have waited to purchase another to see what happens . . .

I want some of those drums.

I know that the MGW teardrop drum is still made-- I see LEO ones up on gunbroker a lot. What about that completely round one that looks like a Thompson drum?

Appreciate the offer, however in NJ there is no such thing as Pre-ban.

Anything over 15rds gets you a trip to the pokey

Thanks for the offer. Here in CT our AWB doesn't cover mags so we get them back. SHHHHHHH!!
Years ago we had a state police Trooper killed as he was responding to a after hours breakin at a gun store. It was of course a horrible thing but any time someone of us sportsmen tries to talk about getting rid of our AWB we are beat over the head with it.And before you ask,no the trooper was not killed with a bayonet or riddled with 30 bullets. One shot that sneaked into the troopers armpit over his vest,The poor guy never made it out of his car.
The good news is that I am looking ahead to reasonable (price wise) 30 rd CEINER mags and some good guality fun mags for my 10/22.
When it comes to handguns I am a wheelgun and 1911 type of guy (mostly) so I am happy there. I have been known to throw a bayonet on my M1 garand,M1 carbine,or A303 springfield from time to tiime mostly because I can although I don't actually have correct ones for all my guns.

I thought NJ had a loophole-- one couldn't buy highcaps in state and couldn't order highcaps and have them shipped in BUT could go out of state, buy them, and bring them back in...?

That's Maryland. We have really stupid gun laws here. Its obvious our lawmakers never passed the third grade.

BUTLER CREEK for $19.99!

They need Beta-Cs for the 10/22, low profile mag with 100 rounds. The 25 rounders stick out a lot.
Link Posted: 9/11/2004 10:11:24 AM EST
There is a 50 teardrop mag, but the price jumped from $50 to 80 in the couple of days.

More realistic prices can be found all over the net.

I seem to remember a canadian company selling the export only mags a bit ago. We can legally own those mags again.

25 round butler creek steel lipped would be great.

I bought two Condor 25 round mags (steel lip ones) for 110 shipped two years ago. It was ridiculous but how could I resist.

I know I have seen the Butler creek EXPORT ONLY 25 rounders for sale we can get those now!

PLEASE KEEP EVERYONE UPDATED IF YOU FIND A PLACE

Every place I've found says the price is $79.

I had those (not anymore) 50 round tear drop mag (crank operated to load/reset) and it's not as reliable as the 25 rounder.

Is anyone gonna buy the steel lip butler creek mags from topglock? They're about $27. Is that fair, or too much?

$43.97 Canadian for Steel Lips.

Mike

TAgged...

Surprised there are so few links.

People must be waiting for their order to be shipped before posting a URL.
Link Posted: 9/14/2004 8:00:53 PM EST
The problem is that most people seem to be charging an arm and a leg for 10/22 magazines.

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...
Link Posted: 9/15/2004 6:19:18 AM EST
Give it time. A lot of manufacturers are selling new LEO pistol mags for more than the NIW pre-bans were a year ago.

All magazine prices will come down, 10/22 included as more companies begin manufaturing aftermarket hi-cap mags for the 10/22.

Now, what the hell do I do with my fake M4 stock, and ten round pistol magazines?!?!?! At least the 10/22 10 rounders are useful as they are rotary and super-low profile in the gun. but 10 round pistol mags take the same space as a 15 or 17 rounder!

Oh, you NJ guys can look on the bright sight, you'll probably be able to buy used ten round mags for most guns at $5/dozen in a month or so.
Link Posted: 9/15/2004 7:52:04 AM EST
That's $42.85 USD for one mag including shipping.
No thanks, I'll stick with US avalible hot lips mags.

rugermags.com was one, but it doesn't work anymore
probably because they weren't warning people that were export only/leo marked mags and in some cases sold mags with obvious marks from a dremel tool to remove those markings

Just wanted to let everyone know Copes Distributing just added Ramline 25 round magazines to their 10/22 magazine page. They will start shipping in 3 weeks, they are taking order.

Not sure how the quality could be any better than the Butler creek. The Ramline are also more expensive at $21.99 each.

Has anyone talked to topglock about the mags they have listed? I have seen two people post who claim to have spoken with Butler Creek. One said that BC is not going to make more steel lips high caps. The other said that they were 2-3 months away from being available. Grant, do you have any knowledge about availability?

For those in the know, which are better- the "hot lips" butler creek, or the ramline mags? I know the steel lips are superior to both, but if they are not going to be available for several months what is the next best option?

Anyone seen a good price on Butler Creek folding stocks yet?

Probably is about right.... personally i'd like to see them more around 20 bucks a piece and the plastic lipped at 15 but I dont' think that will happen. Also figure the steel lip will have at least 2x the life of the plastic lipped. should be worth it I think

Butler Creek has never stopped making the steel lip magazines, they just export all of them (or sold a few to LEO for training), at least untill the ban died. They should market them to us again as soon as they ramp up production again,(their web site already has the plastic lipped one for sell)

There is a high demand for hi cap 22 mags right now, hench the price will stay up. Once the demand goes down you will see them all over the place in the $20-30 range. Be aware this is about what they were running before the ban. I have a number of both 50 and 30 round Ramline mags bought before the ban. The 50 rounders were right around $30 and the 30s were around $21-23/ each.

I can run over to canade and buy the 25 round Butler Creeks steel lip mags for about the same price.

I can't find any Steel Lipped ones right now.

I've heard of people going over to Canada from Detroit to go to the casinos and/or nude strip clubs during the ban and bringing 'unmarked' mags back. Just an urban legend I suppose. Of course, things got a little tighter after 9/11 so I don't know if was even possible.
Link Posted: 9/20/2004 6:40:18 AM EST
Is the Butler Creek folder available again? I'd really like to reproduce the 10/22 I had as a kid, with the BC folder, 30 rounders jungle-clipped together, and some kind of cheap-ass red dot. Only difference will be this fucker will be SUPPRESSED!
