Anything sitting on the rack at a nearby gun store that's gonna wind up in your safe sooner or later?  I mean specifically, not like "there's a Mini-14 over at the Walmart, I gotta git me one of those sometime".

For me there's a short barreled (3.5"?) Kimber TLE that I've been sorta makin' eyes at...

used Remington 700 in 308. The only thing stopping me is wondering how much I have to add on top to get a really good tactical-type rifle (mild accurizing, scope, detachable magazine, and stock,)

I've fallen in love with this Arsenal SAM-5 but its 750 dollars and the old lady would work me over with a steak knife if I brought it home.

My dealer has a USP Tactical with a Gemtech suppressor that's giving me that "come hither" look. I've resisted so far, saving for another MG......

Remington Light Varminter, in 223. Luscious. Only balk comes when I do not know how to rectify the butt pad problem. It has a 1" sponge on the end of a otherwise awsome product, and it is about .5" short at that. If I knew, for sure, how to make that right without trash canning the decient stock allready pillarbedded to the action, it would be 'walkin with me'.

Yugo SKS, one they have stored in a box in the back. The stock is a freak of nature to die for.
Also a 1946 M44, once again amzaing condition, 100% blueing, perfect unmarked stock, $79.99.

Even though I don't hunt & have no logical reason for wanting it my dealer always has a 45/70 Marlin Guide Gun in Stainless that I know will eventually find its way into my safe.

I just love the looks of that rifle.

I've been working on a few guns, I've got an AK online with a firend I'm going to buy.  I'm assembling a new AR based on a CavArms MKII and I'm going to get a CZ from academy.

But the thing I am really looking forward to, that occupies my mind, is a Springfield Armory M6 that they have at my favorite dealer.

Is that wierd or what?  Gotta get one.

A local shop had a pre-ban Colt 9mm AR-15 carbine hanging on the wall before the sunset.    They wanted $1700.00 for it.

Right after the sunset, I picked up a new,  L.E. Colt 9mm carbine for $894.00.   It's great and I'm glad I waited.

Now I stay away from gun shops.  I might fall in love with something else.

Before the AWB sunset I would have disagreed with you. When they jacked the price of everything in the store the day after the sunset they also lost my support.

I went gun/mag shopping after the ban, then learned my lesson again.

I often touch a particular Garand when during my weekly visit to the FFL.  I'll never buy it though....at least I don't think I will.  I mean I'm pretty sure I won't.  Well, not anytime soon anyway.  Perhaps sometime in the next few months I guess.  Unless I just say screw it and go buy it next week.  Maybe if I were to swing by this afternoon.  Not a chance minus that 1.5 hour window I have this morning.   Might as well, I mean I've got an old stripper clip sitting in the spare parts bin with no garand to be used with.  Hmm....

Smith Model 10.  Five inch barrel, nickel finish.  Stamped Detroit Police on the back strap.  Oh wait I bought that, didn't I. It just spoke to me.

Hmm,  Fox BSE 12 ga, 26 " barrels, $400.  Nice old Colt Official Police in six inch for $230.  SIG 225 for $450 or so.  The list goes on and on.

There a pretty blued Browning Hi Power with rosewood grips, adjustable sights, and an ambi-safety over at the local fun shop for $450 that has been calling my name for the last 3 weeks.  Looks to be mint.

Workin on it.  I prefer to do it right the first time, and I'm going to get the best money can buy.  Its looking like its going to run me $1100, excluding the lower.

Thus, my dilemma.

Unfortinately though, My fear of a new ban is forcing me to put off buying any bolt/lever guns until I have all the s/a's I want first. (see my toher post )

Me too!  except I do hunt.

My Dad bought a Winchester 1886 45/70 Carbine with the full tube and saddle ring from the local gun shop last weekend. I asked what in the world are you going to do with that? He said "I am going to shoot it, and then I am going to hunt a buffalo with it."

We went to another gun shop yesturday and I was tempted by the two tranferable M-16s they had for 14,000 each.

You mean like that used and not so clean looking IMI Javelina 10mm Longslide?

$500

A week later - $450

I stayed away until someone else bought it.

I would have put a crimp in other plans.

So a week later I payed $300 for a Weatherby Vanguard w/synthetic stock at Walmart.

So much for will power and other plans.

But I saved $150.

Can't believe I'm the first with this one...

Bachman's in Dallas has a Springfield M1A Standard with the Black fiberglass stock.

The price is good...  But my fiscal restraint Kung-Fu is WEAK!!!  This rifle may indeed, end up going with me to the Hun Farm next month.

ETA:  But then, I would have to buy a scope mount, decent piece of glass, not to mention all that decent ammo I would need to pick up, too.
