Yup, I am a weak, weak man.  I had money, I had nothing to do with it, and SATAN took me over!  I was driving home from work and all of the sudden I am sitting in the parking lot of a gun store...

Ok, first: I bought another AR15 tonight.  Second: I have an alarming story to go along with it...

I tell the man I want to buy the Bushmaster 20"A2 and he gives it to me to look over.  Just as I was handing it back to him, I notice a strange mark on the forward assist housing and I pull it back for a look.  Lo and behold!  there is a split in the metal about a 1/4 inch long!  As best I could tell, it went all the way through.  It almost looked like they jammed a forward assist in their that was a little too big and it split from the opening back.

I show him and he says he has more in the back.  He then proceeded to PUT THE RIFLE BACK ON THE RACK WITH ITS PRICE TAG!  Now, I almost missed it, just imagine some poor schmuck who is so excited about getting his first AR not checking it over and finding the flaw after he buys it.

Oh well, the second one was good and now she inhabits slot #8 in safe #2...  Here's a pic:



Interesting side note: of all my ARs (15s and 10s), this is my only true A2.  (that's why I bought it)  I have A3s & A4s, even an A4 with with removable front and rear iron sights bolted onto it but, didn't have an A2.  Shame on me, bad FMJunkie!

And, you'll all be glad to know that Lord NICS reassured me that I hadn't killed, raped or beaten anyone lately...

Glad to see I'm not the only one this happens to!  I bought a Magnum Research Lone Eagle Pistol the other day for no better reason than "I kinda like the way it looks".  Now I'm going to have to drop another couple hundred on a decent scope, I love spending money!  Oh, and since you mentioned it seems I have'nt raped, killed or pillaged anything of late either, according to Mr. NICS anyway.

I had to help out a guy on the FAL Files with some money problems.



NICS still likes me, but the 4 cops who were shooting at the range when I picked this up yesterday stood with their faces pressed against the glass, staring at the FAL.

Then I had to explain to them what it was. They were confused.  Couldn't get a read on what they actually thought about it, but then, I really don't care what they thought

Nice rifles, and your NICS stories are nice to. It just brings a smile to me everytime I see them. Here in VA we have had a instant check system in place for years, so we don't go through the Fed's system the way you have to. We are open 365 days a year. Another reason I love living in VA.

It is in my future, but its at a shop that's about an hour to an an hour and twenty minutes away...  I am going up there on Monday night.  And, guess what?  I will be coming home with either a Benelli M1, an AR10A2C OR BOTH (god help me).  Not to mention I am looking at an LTR in the EE now too!

Yes, I just got paid my bonus and I am on a roll!!!!!!!!!!!  I love this time of year, its MY Christmas time.

1. Go Fishing
2. Occasional trip to the casinos
3. Buy ammo from Ammoman

Other than that I try to stay out of NJ

Same delema here.  I get my bonus in two weeks, and I already have been drooling over 3 different rifles....a Bushmaster Shorty, an FAL, or a Model 1866 Lever Action in 45 Long Colt.  Right now the Bushmaster is getting the nod (I only have 2 AR's!!)

That's pretty funny, I live in Hamilton too!  What are the chances?  I live over by by Steinert and Reynolds on the other side of Yardville-Hamilton Sq Rd.

I have purchased all but one of everything I have ever owned from Sportsmen's Center.  I keep trying Harry's but, one of three things happens every time I go in there:

1 - Attitude
2 - Ridivulous bullstuff someone tries to tell me
3 - Unbelievable price tag hanging on something

Anyway, Maybe we can get together for a day at the range someday?
