I had my 2007 purchased excellent condition 556 for sale on GB for about a month with a few watchers but no bids. I had it listed for $875.00, then dropped to $825.00 and still no bids. The rifle has a samson front site and Midwest industries rear plus a magpul trigger guard and real swiss bayonet lug. I was going to take a loss of about $400 to $500, but I was trying to move it so I could get a new 551A1. Then Sig started selling the new 551a1 lowers for $375.00 and I pulled the auction and ordered the lower, as the upper on the 551a1 is the same as the 556 except the color and flash hider. I am glad Sig started selling them, as now I will now not take a loss on my upgrade and I can probably sell the original lower and break even on my upgrade. This is the best thing Sig has ever done as far as the whole 556 project goes.
