I had this freefloat handguard, cut down and crowned a Wilson 1:7 match barrel to 10.5" and it shoots great.  I am going to try some of my 80gr loads and see if they will group well out to 300yds.  If they do, this is the perfect truck gun for shooting dogs, and I dont have to worry about dinging the muzzle.  It makes a fun sound with two inches of tube out front.  Now all I need is a can!

Pretty sweet little gun. Be sure to post a range report!

JThomas,

You mean something like this???  Mine is pretty much what you did with different optics.

That thing looks good.  Can you give some stats?  I have been wanting an SBR with a suppressor that "hides" in the forearm.  I'd rather do a quad-rail but I don't think there is one out there with a large enough ID to accomodate the suppressor.  Is there any way to mount an iron sight on the front of that weapon?

Sorry for not replying, but I am not getting my subscription notices via email.  Anybody know what to do about that?  It seems persistent.

Anyway, the .223 above shoots good at 100 yds and I have had no time to get out to the 300 yd range.

Here is another new upper with the same scope.  This is a .22lr dedicated upper, no gas port.  It is also a cut down Wilson 1:7 heavy Service Rifle Match barrel.  When I have time I will cut threads for a brake/can.

Yes!

What can do you have on that beast?

JThomas,

The can is an AAC Ranger thread on (not QD).  I went with a thread on instead of a quick detach because the can is dedicated to this particular SBR and will not be going on anything else.  I do share the lower with three uppers though (7.5", 10.5" and this suppressed 11.5".

What you have done with that rig is just about what I am looking for.  Who made that aluminum tube forearm?  Wat is the bbl length?

Thanks in advance!

The barrel is 10.5" and the forend is DPMS freefloat handguard.
