LRB had one listed available on their website, watched it for a few days and Friday I called and Jumped. It ships to my FFL on Monday

Dear god what have I done.

Great score. They are nice rifles.

All the M-14/M1-A rifles I have owned were very sensitive to case length.  If cases weren't trimmed properly, the rifle wouldn't seat the rounds.

Otherwise they were terrific rifles.  I got 15,000 rounds through one that had a GI chrome lined bore..It shot .75-1.25" groups...usually right around 1" groups.  The caveat was that it didn't shoot well when it was clean...it needed about 10-15 rounds through it before it shot well.  Fortunately, it shot better when it was hot and dirty.

Nice score, op. I know it wasn't cheap.

Years ago I scored a TRW kit from the CMP and a NOS TRW barrel on ebay and sent it to LRB to build me a rifle on one of their receivers. One of my favorite rifles and the last one I would part with. Love the ringing sound it makes when you shoot it.

Looks like a great one.

I was thinking of changing to a USGI profile wood stock if the Boyds feels too thick, if that makes sense

I wish that I still had mine...  Springfield Armory with all TRW parts.

I had searched far and wide and cobbled all of the parts and had it rebuilt with the TRW parts.

I am sad.

Well I wont see it today. Fedex says its delayed. Stuck in Texas. Holiday weekend has them shut down I guess, so maybe Tuesday now.

Rifle got hung up in New Jersey for 2 days last week.

Very nice. Wood and steel are still fun to shoot and while people poo poo them, it's usually because their noodle arms can't carry them.

I still have my 2 4 digit and mid 5 digit ones.

2 have CA barrels match barrels and the other, a standard USGI one.

Lrb is nice. I have an all gi m25 scout with an 18" barrel. The quality is just superb and it shoots like a dream. Their forged recievers are perfection. I wish ammo wasn't so damn expensive...

I believe the ringing sound is from the flash hider.  The flash hider acts sort of like a tuning fork, and the National match ones that have been modified (the inside is machined out to a larger internal diameter) ring a little "better".

That's a very nice rifle, congratulations.

If your buyer's remorse overwhelms you and you want to sell off this brand new rifle, I will buy it from you.

(sarcasm and cynicism on)

Oh, wait, the slots in the flash hider make it an "assault weapon".  They sell un-slotted flash hiders which are identical and have slots but the slots do not go all the way through.

Oh, wait, I cannot import 20 round magazines any longer.  Good thing I have a supply of pre-ban 20 rounders which I can use.

Other than that, it's good to go.

(sarcasm and cynicism off)
