How can you replace the flat mainspring on a Tokarev? I'm trying to replace the spring because it was failing to reset at the range.

Are you referring to a TT33 sear spring? In that case, don't. Buy a new assembly: http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/TOKARV-TT33-SEAR-175p48.htm

You may be able to swap just the spring, but I wouldn't try it.

I'm actually wanting to remove the trigger return spring - the long leaf spring that is inside the frame at the back strap. I have the replacement, just need to know how to remove the original.

It's secured by a pin, labeled "T" in this diagram. Edit: The spring just rotates out of place without removing said pin.

I know the location of the pin, my issue is removing said pin. It appears that it's permanently in place. Hit it harder, or is there a technique I'm missing

Sorry, the spring comes out without removing that pin. Once the trigger is clear of the frame, it can rotate forward and be removed. See this video @ 9:30 https://youtu.be/cUiGwYcfdkA
