On a typical flash suppressor for an AR15 what size hole to I drill and what size die to I use to cut the threads??? I know they say the threads are 1/2x28 but that doesn't mean squat to me LOL

To do it right you need to drill it undersize then bore or ream it to 29/64. Then tap it 1/2 28tpi

If you aren't doing this on a lathe it's not going to turn out how you want it.

Really needs to be turned on a lathe. The bore and threads must be concentric to the projectiles path. Reaming before internal threading is not necessary and does not need to be done. All that does is ensure the minor diameter (hole) is exactly what it should be for size and also makes the hole round if for any reason you used a jobber drill that did not drill round.

What would you want to thread a flash hider or muzzle device? Can you not find one available or do you just want to make something? I would not recommend doing it without a equipment.
