I found that I'm going to retire here in the desert so I've gotten busy with the spray paint. I used Krylon ultra flat paint to do this 10/22. This was really easy to do the idea is to get the over all lightness/darkness to the right level so that the shape blends in at a distance. I've got to take the rifle out to check but I use my own backyard's dirt which is a bit darker than I need and the three color camo cloth to get an idea how close I'm to the right brightness.

I paint the rifle 100% sand color (see the reciever) and then add the rust brown and then the OD green and finally a bit of the sand on top to lighten the thing up to taste. Comments?

Yeah, I got a couple of trigger guards and haven't decided which to paint (paint both!).
