Ready to add a suppressor to the inventory.  I've looked at SilencerCo and AAC and maybe a few others.  I want a .30cal can so I can shoot 300BLK or 5.56.  So far the SilencerCo Omega has caught my eye.  Then yesterday I had a dealer pushing the SilencerCo Hybrid, said you could put it on a .45 pistol too; which is something that does interest me....suppressing a 9mm and 45 at some point.

But what are your thoughts on these 'all-in-one" cans?

They are a bit of a compromise of sound, length, weight, and you will need a box full of adaptors to work with all the different calibers.  I would get a Sandman S and a pistol can vs something like the hybrid. You won't stop with one can so no need to compromise.

I can't speak to the Hybrid but I have an Omega and love it. I shoot 5.56, .308, 300 BLK through it and it's perfect for my application.

Short, light, quiet.

Be mindful of the issues with the Saker QD mounts if your dealer points you in that direction.

I would recommend getting a dedicated pistol can and a dedicated rifle can. You can only have the Hybrid mounted on one gun at a time and you may like to have multiple guns suppressed at one time/multiple shooters. I like to have my Omega set up on my HD SBR and my Octane on my HD pistol...obviously, can't do that with one Hybrid.

Thanks for the advice guys! You both bought a few things to the table I need to take into consideration.

When he was telling me this yesterday I was thinking to myself you have to be giving up something and my first thought was db rating?  However, if they are going up to a .46 cal they have to add more baffles.......which made me think the db would be lower on a smaller cal?  Am I missing something?

The other thing I didn't like was that the Hybrid was longer (more baffles) than some of the others I have looked at and since it primarily will be going on a SBR the goal is to be as compact as possible.

From my experience with other things, when they try to make something "to cover all the bases" there are other ares that suffer.

I have a Hybrid and I love it.  It sounds great on my 5.56 and .308, and being able to put it on 9mm, 40, and 45 is pretty damn good for one can and one tax stamp.  I still have the 46cal endcap.

Given how long you're probably going to have to wait. I'd say get both or at least get a 30 cal can and a 45 can.

The Gemtech One can handle all your rifle needs.

The Gemtech Lunar 45 can handle all your handgun needs

So far I really like my Griffin Armament 30SD and I am waiting for the stamp on an Optimus all-in-one suppressor.

Can't make any kind of claims as I haven't tried it out but I've fondled it at the FFL a couple times and it seems plenty solid with strong build quality

That's what I did. I bought the Omega first, which I'm still waiting on, for 5.56 and future .30 cal. Then I bought the Hybrid for a 2nd 5.56 can, to suppress large bore rifles, and to play with on a handgun although that was just a bonus. So I bought the Omega for short and light versatility, and the Hybrid for even more versatility (with the penalty of slightly more length and weight). But these guys are right, you won't stop at one can.
