Adco and YHM no longer thread Sub2K barrels for suppressors.  Gemtech told me to consult the manufacturer.  Ive seen a YouTube video where a fella had his barrel done by USMachinegun.com.    Unfortunately, his barrel came back shorter than it was when it went out.   I dont know what thats all about.

Basically, I just want to cut my front sight off, remove the handguard, and send the barrel and trunnion to someone to get it cut for 1/2-28 threads.   Does anyone here know a place that will do it?

You might do better asking in your Home Town Forum and find some people with personal experience with nearby machine shops.

Good luck!

When doing single point threading many people will use a live center in the muzzle end of the barrel.  This helps support the end of the barrel that is not in the chuck.  This method ensures that the threads are concentric to the bore of the barrel, but the barrel should be re crowned after threading is completed.  If the barrel can be entirely removed from the receiver and will fit inside of the spindle this may not be necessary.

just about anyone whos going to thread one of these barrels will still have it installed in the trunnion, i bet.   pulling it from the trunnion and reinstalling it to the right depth is a pain in the ass.

even with the crowning, it shouldnt be especially short, i would think.   of course, this is going off of a youtube video, so who knows?

I had my local gun machinist do mine.  I pulled it totally apart, just counted the turns as I unscrewed it.  Icut the sight off and he turned the knurled section down so I could fit an AK front sight tower to it.  It's on there and I think it's a bit low, so I"ll have to fill in the hole inethe rear sight and drill a new one.  Still waiting for my Form 4 to come back, so I havent' been able to play with it suppressed yet.

I can tell you that the bore is not centered to the OD of the barrel in mine.   Barrel is straight.  Just drilled low.  I can take pics if needed.
