I did a search and didn't find anything here...

Anyone here have a Strion light?  Anyone have it mounted to their AR?  Will it take the beating?  I just mounted it with a cheap ring to my forend and was wondering if anyone else had done the same.  It seems like it will make a great weapon light, especially with the rechargeable capability.

I know that Streamlight came out with a "tactical" version, but I can't see buying it for an extended button and knurled grip.  The mount looks kinda ugly too.

I had a Streamlight Scorpion attached to my A2 for years and never had a problem, held up pretty well

I have a Strion, not attacehd to a weapon tho. I carry it at work. Handy little rechargeable. I like rechargeables for the obvious reason, no batteries. It holds a charge well, it's very bright, small and light.
I used the Stinger for a few years. Good light, but just too big to be belt mounted, IMHO.

I carried the Stinger for a while too, then switched to the Strion.  They're both great lights.

And if anyone else is contemplating mounting a Strion, an extra battery fits perfectly inside the MIAD with the rubber insert removed from the grip cap.

I have the "tactical" version of the Strion.  The one that hast he extended tailcap, more agressive grooves, and comes with a mount.  Otherwise it's the same as a standard Srion.  I haven't shot it alot while mounted, but it has been dropped a number of times and has handled that pretty well.  I can't imagine that 5.56 recoil is much worse than being dropped four feet onto concrete.
