What host are you planning to use it on?
My experience with Walther P22s is they do not like heavy suppressors. The Element is 4.3 ozs. That is about half the weight of the Spectre. With that said- there have been plenty of folks that the Spectre has worked fine for. P22s are weird like that. The Element is not out yet- down side. Spectre is rated .17, 22 mag, 22LR and 5.7. Element is rated .17, .22 mag, 22LR. Both are full auto rated as well. Element is a few inches shorter with about the same reduction in dB. Spectre is about $100 bucks cheaper. |
| I would wait for the Silencerresearch 2009 shootout to be released so you can see if the Element actually IS close to the Spectre in sound reduction. The only numbers currently available are the ones from AAC's literature. If the two end up being similar, then the AAC is better for weight and size as long as you can stand its hideous looks. The spectre wins if you need 5.7x28 capability. |

I am transferring a Spectre. With the $100 or more difference, I can buy a lot of .22 ammo. Or, use that $100 towards the ATF tax stamp. Seems like AAC canned the Prodigy in favor of their Element. AAC took the Prodigy off the website until they get caught up replacing all the old cores out there with new ones.

| Been very happy with my Spectre, which I've had for a few months now. Hosted on a Browning Buckmark, it is quiet enough to shoot in the backyard of my urban home without the neighbors wondering what's up. The sound of the bullet hitting the trap is louder than the muzzle report. |
