I took my new to me Socom out to zero today and boy is it off. I started at 25 yards with the rear sight all the way down a this was the result:
I moved back to 100 yards and didn't even hit the top of the target frame. I moved back up to 12 yards and it was just an inch high or so:
Here are the results from 25, 50 and 100 yards:
I would guess that the front sight is too low, what say ye?

Does anyone have an opinion on what the issue might be?

I would bet that the forward portion of the rear aperature isn't beveled so you're not getting enough downward range. With the shorter barrels the right sight needs to be beveled just forward of the cogs. Hope that helps

Mine did the same thing. Call Springfield Armory. They will send you the proper front sight. They were very helpful.

Yeah, I'd say you need a taller front sight.
