You've got to be kidding $8500? That's insane! |

I would really, really like to have one. I toted one of those around in the Gulf, but I ain't dishin' out that kind of cash for one.

Man that sounds like quite a bit for what it is. I mean sure it's cool, but come on. Besides the plans, why on earth would it cost that much? It doesn't seem like they would cost that much to manufacture.

i rather doubt if they will be 8500$$. check at www.usord.com and drop curtis a line to find out for sure. i have met curtis and he is a very nice gent. prices on his california legal semi auto m1919's were in the 1700 dollar range at the reno gun show.

the semi auto m60 are $7500 so with the SAW being a current issue weapon the parts might cost more? I am not sure

I don't believe that the current models used by the military cost $8500. www.usord.com

Lets see...NIB Colt M16A1 from www.vectorarms.comfor $8500, or semi auto belt-fed?
Gee, this doesn't seem too difficult for me. |

The question is "Does a belt fed weapon use a high-capactiy magazine as defined by federal law?" Sounds like one hell of a loophole.

|
The short answer is- Yes. The marking requirement for machine gun links is that the date of manufacture be placed on the package, not on each link, but they are still considered covered under the ban.

They will use the usual AR mags too, though the M249 does'nt really like them very much.
