I have read the sticky above on zeros, but I find it hard to process some of the info.

For a 18" barrel M1A 250m zero, the point of impact at 25m should be how high?


Does anyone know if the elevation drum on the Springfield Scouts are actually calibrated for the shorter barrel, or do they just use the same one as the standard barrel?

You will lose a little velocity with the 18" Scout barrel, but not so much as to render things impossible to cope with.  I doubt if the elevation parts of the sight have been modified to take the slightly diminished MV into account.  If such a modification has been make, It seems like the manufacturers are keeping it a secret.

I would begin by using POI=POA @ 25 M, That should be very close to your 200M zero.  Fire at 200M to confirm/ fine tune.
I would then fire at BSZ of 250M and confirm there also.   If you have a chronograph and a ballistics program for your computer,  all this is made a lot simpler.  For example, once you establish the velocity of your bullets, you can plot where the 250M round will land on a target set up at 100M.
