Anyone looking at the SP-89 or a Bobcat clone ever check into a Spectre pistol? They have a higher-cap capability and are between a quarter to a third of the price.  Hows the quality compare?  $900ish for a like new Spectre seems pretty normal.  You also have the advantage of a higher mag capacity (50 rnds) because of the quad stack design.  I don't know who all actually CCW's their SP-89's but i'm sure the Spectre would carry just as easily, and you would only need to carry one mag. Just a thought.  Anyone have experience with both?

I presume you are refferring to the Spectre HC pistol?

I have always felt, the only logical reason people would buy a SP89 in the first place is to convert it to a MP5k or PDW.  Lets face it, in pistol form the SP89 is way to heavy and large for practicle purposes.
Don't most people buy pistols for concealment?

So is the Spectre and a SP89 a good comparison?  Probably not to to the NFA people or H&K addicts.

I have never fired a Spectre myself, but I have picked one up and my first impression was, they are very heavy!

If I got a SP89 it would have a K grip and stock on it as fast as possible, and then it would be a carry gun when I was in Pennsylvania JUST BECAUSE.

Spectre would be cool too. They just look neat. Or the Steyr SPP.
