scroll down to the video tab.

it shows both the L and H being shot. They break down an H and it is easy. They also show the M203.

Not a big fan of the SCAR, but I have to admit that's some cool shit.

Nice.

Hope there is a civilian legal semi-auto version released in the next few years.  We could use more options in long stroke gas piston assault rifles manufactured by major weapon firms.

The gernade launcher was very impressive.  FN Herstal is the varsity team right now in the firearms world in terms of product, management, marketing, and production.

It has an ambi-safety, but the guy is firing left handed and operating the selector like you would an M16 with no ambi-safety. Muscle memory or just preference, who knows.

The gentleman in that video (GySgt Jim Owens) spent 20 years in the Marine Corps; I'd say it's muscle memory.

These rifles are the bees knees!

Knowing my luck, these rifles will hit the market at the same exact time as HK's 416/417 (yes, far fetched I know, but what the hell).

I'll take one of each. please, but with a 18" bbl on the SCAR-H.

+1. With all the people on this forum, we could get them some really decent reviews.  Especially if they gave us a few to raffle off to team members.

For some reason i just can't get behind this system. dosen't do it for me, i have to say though the gen-3 renditions are getting there. Hopefully they tie it all together in the issued variant.

What mags does the Heavy take?
10/17/2006 3:10:16 AM EDT

Looks to be a maodified FAL mag, mag release like an AR.
10/17/2006 3:52:26 AM EDT

The SCAR-H mags are proprietary. According to FN they're not FAL mags.

i think that mag prices will fall a bit, especially when production is ramped up and finalized,

F that....................then everybody will have one and it wont be cool anymore.

Thats the problem with me, I do plenty of reasearch before buying any firearm.
I would have at least three time more firearms, but because I look first buying.......I dont.
Thats because many guns have expensive mags, I would like to have many mags either before
I purchase the gun and also after I buy it. But because mags are expensive I choose to stay away
from that one particular gun.

AR's...........................dozen's
AK's..............................dozen's
1911's..........................dozen's
Beretta's........................dozen's
Walther P22 & G22...........dozen's

and so on..............

I woulod have many other type of firearms, and I do, I hate typing............

But the point is to have plenty of mags for each and every gun you own.......that is the name of the game, be prepared.

cool guns, i would opt for a heavy, with a short barrel

You are gonna go a long time without buying any rifles then.

while i do agree with you that its good to be prepared i think (for me) having 3 guns(ar10,ar15,Sig) total preparded, IE dozens of mags, spare parts and uppers with a couple thousands of rounds of ammo would  suffice for me to be prepared.

given that we may be buying our time untill a new assult weapon ban may come forth, i personally would rather have something new for the first time in years

we lost the AUG, Sig550 series, HK 9series and plenty other great weapons, now there is a real chance of getting them back if the community is not his with another AWB in the next 2 years

nah not really mudbug...I have owned tons of toys and also sold tons of toys....I have now the bare minimum in the safe to get the job done if the need arises and awaiting this one to hit civilians...I am one of the few that has actually been able to fondle that beautiful rifle...and I am also one of the few that is in constant contact with a higher up at FN.......the rifle will hopefully be out soon.....not meaning months here  but soon enough, giving me enough time to save for a SCAR H  with the 762x39 modularity

I was under the impression that they were looking at late 07 for selectfire versions and longer than that for the semi's.

I think Gamma is refering to how the selector appears to have more than 180 degress of rotation.

Also, the shroud that covers the magazine on the grenade launcher has got to go.

I know I'm going to end up having to buy one of these, I might as well just accept it. Firearms will take every penny from me before it's over.....BRD this a terrible thing.

the selector only has 90 degress of rotation, this was requirment of the SCAR trials
