The key word is "saw" one for $2800. Because of the Military contracts currently soaking up these rifles. $3000-3200 is becoming the norm in some areas.
Supply and demand. If it is a product you want you pay the going rate. If you can't or dont want to paythat much for a .308, then dont. I was merely pointing out that there was one available for the person who wants one. That being said..... As I said in my post. If I had not just bought the SCAR 16S I would be jumping on this. In my opinion the rifle is worth the coin. Would I like to pay less, Yes, but it ain't likely going to happen soon with the current supply and demand. chuck |

CDNN and GT Distributors list them at ~$2600 when they can get them. People are selling them on Gunbroker for way stupid prices (magazines too). Magazines retail from FNH USA at ~$35 and there are auctions on GB for "buy it now" at $69 and up.  I back-ordered them off Midway and I'll just wait.Your mileage may vary. |

Surplus Ammo in Lakewood WA had one last Friday for like $2780 or something around that. I looked at it for a minute, really liked it (especially the light weight, wow!), but cost of rifle, cost of ammo, cost of extra mags ($50+) drove me away. Maybe someday...

$2500 is a good price, saw a black 17S NIB a couple weeks ago at the local gunshow for that price.

I think invoice for a 16 is like 2200, a 17 is like 2600 or so. Don't quote me on that.
2800 would be a good price, but 3000, considering that the supply of SCAR 17s is not meeting demand, is not totally unreasonable. That's what I paid for mine. Of course, I also got a bunch of mags at MSRP to offset the cost of the rifle.

A serious buyer, not out just "window shopping" would know that there is a difference between Internet pricing and Local retail pricing and call the shop to discuss the price and possibly work out a deal.
