Well I'm going to be contrary and say that I wouldn't mind having that rifle. I wouldn't consider doing such a thing to either of my Garands but I do kind of like the rather "unique" look of this one.
Let's face it guys, Garands haven't alway been held in the high regard they presently enjoy. You can pretty much guess that this rifle was "customized" some time ago, look at the dings in the stock and the style of the stock. I'm guessing late 50s to as late as '70 This is kind of like all the really primo 1911A1 handguns that were customized into target or carry guns.
I would question the sanity of someone who took a decent grade Garand and made a rifle like this one today. But if I had the money to spare, I'd buy that rifle just because it's unique, even kind of cool. Sure as hell I'd have the only one like it in any hunting camp I went to!
