Finally got my GSG5 out to the range yesterday. The indoor range I use allows only pistol calibers and .22, so he wanted to verify what I had in the rifle case was allowed. As he opened it up, I told him what it was and he stopped for second. He said "Really?! Where'd  you find one of those?". Kinda funny coming from a guy working in a gun store but it was cool he knew what it was.

I had loaded up four mags with stingers, as I wanted to make sure to break it in well before using something else. In hindsight, I don't think it would have mattered. Gun functioned very well.  I had three failures to feed, all stingers and all got jammed and bent on the feed ramps. All ammo related in my mind as the next two hundred rounds of mini-mags and winchester super-x were flawless except for one failure to fire.

My iron sights were accurate at 50 ft (max distance for the indoor range) but I did have to adjust the rear sight all the way to the left. My GSG5 does have the removable front sight post. I have the top rail for optics but my clonepoint mount didn't fit the rail I got. I have a different mount and rail ordered which should be here today or tomorrow. As soon as I get the optic mounted, I'll be heading back again. This thing is way too much fun to shoot.

Sounds like you are enjoying your gsg-5.

I'm hoping to get out and try mine out this weekend.

Still trying to figure out what optic to go with.  I'm seriously considering an EOTECH, just not sure if i want t put a $400 optic on a $500 gun.

Picked up a GSG-5 on Saturday, was able to shoot it on Sunday.  It has the new style front sight.  At 25 yards off a bench it was shooting a little under 1/2" groups and using the aperture one position counter clockwise from the "V" notch it was shooting about 1' to the left and right at point of aim.

I put about 700 or so rounds through it using mainly Remington Gold Bullets.  I had a few misfires, all fired on a second try and a few fail to completely chamber.  For this ammunition the reliability is always in question.  I fired about 200 rounds of the Federal bulk ammo.  If functioned reliably but the accuracy wasn't as good as the Remington.

I also shot 50 rounds of PMC Scoremaster.  It functioned fine but the action seemed sluggish.  I didn't shoot the PMC for accuracy I just wanted to see if the standard velocity would work.

My brother shot his GSG-5 and he had about the same results with the Remington ammo.  He also was shooting CCI Mini Mags, which functioned fine.  THe accuracy from his rifle was not quite as good.

I took a few other firearms with me but ended up only shooting the GSG-5.  It's a fun gun to shoot,
