I had a buddy ask if it was possible.  He has a YHM 7.62 suppressor and was wondering if it would be possible to load the 7mm rem mag to a subsonic level.

I told him that I thought it would be tough due to the case volume being as large as it is and the powder would more than likely have too much room inside the case.  However since I only started reloading a month ago I figured I'd ask here.

Geez...I just burned post #223

Don't think so, way too much case volume

Use the suppressor to kill the muzzle blast, leave the downrange noise alone.

I think I can find a load.

Why not, this is a great way to extend the usefulness of a rifle.

Right. I was thinking there should be a load with the right powder and some case filler like dacron or something.

Try IMR Trailboss.  That's what I use for .308 subs.
