Flame me for being stupid but I am going to ask any way

Question is about a Rem 870 express:

can you shoot rifled slugs through a rifled barrel (ie Deer barrel ) and it not hurt the barrel or effect the ballistics of the slug?

There Flame on but I would like a answer.

It will foul your barrel badly, just like shooting buckshot through the rifled barrel will also.  I never tried it but 20+ years ago I tried buckshot in mine and what a cluster that was (see tacked thread above in this forum).

Rifled barrel is a specialized barrel that needs specialized ammo.  Stick to the sabots or switch the barrel.
