Hey All, I disassembled my H&K 91/G3 308 on a Century receiver, and I cannot get the bolt back into the receiver. I took off the stock and that slid off with the long bolt spring attached. The trigger group came off easily. And the bolt rolled out the back, but I can't get it back in. There are these two rollers on the side of the bolt that seem to be in the way when I try to slide it in. Should these push in (recess) if I apply enough pressure? Any help is appreciated? I hate taking apart a gun when I don't know what I'm doing. But I gots to learn somehow. JohnK. |

Dude, I was in the same predicament with my SAR-8. I called Springfield on a Sunday morning and they talked me through it,simple huh.I was a little bit rude at first cause I thought I had bought a real expensive boat anchor but the Springfield guy was real cool and when we were through I felt a lot better.I am an amateur gun smith but I really learned something that day. |

You have to have the bolt unlocked to get it back into the receiver. Sounds like when you put the bolt back on the carrier, you locked it. Pull the bolt back off the carrier, then this time, reinstall it with the bolt pulled all the way forward, with a gap between the bolt and the carrier, showing the firing pin is you look at the bottom of the B/C. If worst comes to worst, you can just use a screw driver between the bolt/carrier to push the bolt forward until the locking rollers are free to recess into the bolt. |
