I have my new press mounted and am putting it together. When I put a shell plate on I have a problem. The ram will go up and advance but it will not come down and advance. It binds up. The press is brand new. the shell plates were used with my old LNL. Could it be that the old shell plates wont work with the new press??

Yes, the old hornady Projector plates won't work unless you send them in to Hornady to be modified.

The shell ejector nub sticks up, and you have to remove material from the bottom of the old plates to clear it. I think Hornady charges $10 to fix.

And even though the OP has had an LnL AP for a while, even though it was an older one, this video is always good to refresh a persons understanding of pawl adjustment, especially relevant considering that he is dealing with a brand new press.
