| Recently I have had a problem with my GSG-5 Carbine. I bought it in December and it fired great, really fun rifle. I didn't get to shoot it again until last week and it had some problems. It would only fire about 4 out of 5 rounds. It would hit the primer, but the round would not fire. I tried different types of ammo as well. I took it apart to clean it and everything, but now it wont fire at all. I never took the bolt group apart, so I don't know why it wont fire. It strikes the primer, but not hard enough to set off the round. Any advice? |
First post, welcome!
Sounds like you've got an internal issue with the firing pin IF the bolt is seating fully forward. Your best bet might be to take it back to where you bought it & have them at least eye-ball it, see if there's something that perhaps you've overlooked as a problem? Do you have some shooting buddies that know these guns & can look at it for you? |
| Remove the stock and make sure the bolt stopper is installed correctly and the screw is tight (see the sticky on breakdown). Make sure the bolt itself is slapping the face of the breech when you release it under spring tension. If both of these are OK it has to be a firing pin / firing pin spring problem. If so pull out the bolt carrier and see what you can see about the firing pin traveling freely. You may have to send it in for service. They're quick and courteous I hear. |
