I have found a few USP compacts for around $700, and full sized .45's for $750, all with 10 rd mags of course. Are these about the going rate?? Just got interested in the USP's , haven't decided which one to get. ANY help on the price check is appreciated.

That is strange... usually the compacts are more expensive than the full size (.45's a bit more in either size). Last time I looked "Decent" prices fell around 600-625 full size, compacts 650-675 (in HE finish - stainless runs around 30-40 more). Seems like HK increasing their price about 5% a year - I got an SS .40 compact in stainless for around $640 two years ago, and saw them for less (after I bought it, of course).

I bought a NIB .45F Variant 1 for $550, a NIB .40F SS for $500. If you shop around the deals are out there. I just saw a used .40 Full size variant ? (its the left hand safety and I don't know what variant it is off the top of my head) for $485. If you can do private sales in your state watch the paper, after christmas there will be some nice pieces showing up.

$700 dollars is average price for a full size.
HK increased prices on ALL firearms in July of this year. The increase was $50 bucks for all.
BEFORE that $600-650 was average price for fullsize. As far as compacts be more expensive, I've never seen that in all the HK prices i've looked at.

Prices are also area dependant - $700 is a little high for even a full size .45 in HE finish here (SS was always a bit more, but the full size SS have been discontinued). You can check out some of these sites for prices - they also have the compacts generally listed for more. Cal's used to have good prices, but they seem average now. Luckily, the Firing Line is in my state (about 30 mins away), so I don't have to worry about additional transfer/shipping fees.

Also McDonald Tactical - prices are for LE (except for the civilian specials listed on the bottom of the page), and seems to offer alot of used stuff as well.

You are right about the price increase in July, though I only heard 5%, but add some extra for dealer profit on that increase, and some places may indeed by charging $50 more.

Just bought a USP .45 for $650. I took it to the indoor range today and tried it out. It is now my most accurate and favorite pistol.

Full Sizes around here and the 'net have been in the 5-600 range. Compacts 50-75 more. With the wide range of prices, I have seen Fullsize 45s for around the same price as Tacticals. It has been mentioned, and should be again--look around--good deals are to be had. A month or so ago, there was a site on the net offering 45Cs for $499. Too bad I didn't have the cash at the time, but we all know how that goes.

I think 750 is a lot for a USP /45 full size. I have seen them as low as 569.99 to 679.99 and that is in New York of all places. And dont forget that I think H&K has a patent on all the magazines except the full size .45 which means you pay 39.99 for extra mags in what is the biggesr ripoff of all time. H&K's patent on USP .40 mags and the like was pending at on point so ProMag and another company I cant remember were able to make .40 and 9mm mags, but the patent screwed that so now you would spend close to $400 just getting a Mag set!!

Gentleman,

Thanks for all the good information. I just called a MT dealer and he has a full complement of both compacts and full sized pistols due in a week or so. He has given me LE discount before so that should do it!
I was unaware that H&K had PATENTED!! Their mag's!! Amazing. I was quoted $34 a pop for the LE mags, that IS a lot.

Im looking for a usp in the $500 range I will wait until I can get it for that price. I have come close with a few $550 usps but was stupid and held out. They now reside in someone elses holster..

Also looking for a DA/SA 92 or 96 if anyone runs across one.

I checked on a 9mm compact HK a few months ago. I had one priced at 800. I probobly could have found one cheaper but i went with a SIG SAUER 228 instead (for conceal carry).
